40 Engineering Bursaries offered by EC Public Works

 

Public Works offers bursaries for matriculants interested in studying Engineering Sciences and related professions

The Eastern Cape Department of Public Works will provide 40 bursaries/ financial assistances to students residing in the Eastern Cape Province who wish to study at accredited University/Universities within South Africa for the 2019 academic year.

The bursary scheme is to provide financial assistance for the education, training and skills development of historically disadvantaged Eastern Cape learners who are considering a career in Engineering Sciences and related professions.

The department’s bursary scheme is committed to achieving the Employment Equity imperatives within the National Skills Development Strategy and the strategic priorities of the Eastern Cape Department of Public Works. It promotes career development within identified scarce skills and professions in the Eastern Cape Department of Public Works.

THE FOCUS WILL BE STRICTLY UNDER THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  1. ND/Degree: Architectural Studies
  2. ND/Degree: Building
  3. ND/Degree: Civil Engineering
  4. ND/Degree: Construction Management/Studies
  5. ND/Degree: Electrical Engineering
  6. ND/Degree: Interior Design
  7. ND/Degree: Land Surveying
  8. ND/Degree: Mechanical Engineering
  9. ND/Degree: Property Management/Studies
    10.Degree: Quantity Surveying
    11.ND/Degree: Real Estate
    12.ND/Degree: Town and Regional Planning

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FOLLOWING:

Applicants that are South African citizens who are permanently residing in the Eastern Cape Province and coming from disadvantaged background.
Students that excelled academically and are not currently benefiting from any other bursary scheme.
Applicants who wish to study towards areas identified by the department as scarce skills at recognised and accredited University and University of Technology within South Africa.
Candidates who have potential but because of their financial status cannot afford to pay their tertiary education.
