The ANC in the Eastern Cape has issued a statement sharing its sadness at the bereavement of OR Tambo Mayor, Nomakhosazana Meth.
HotNews broke the story earlier of Meth’s two sons who passed away tragically in a vehicle crash.
Meanwhile, more details of the accident are emerging. An ANC leader in the OR Tambo region who was one of the first people at the scene of the accident has described it as “both horrific and puzzling”.
Speaking on condition of anonymity as he is not the designated ANC or family spokesperson, he said, “there were four occupants in the vehicle. The other two escaped without even a single scratch. It was as if the accident was meant to take the two boys’ lives and theirs alone.”
