Dan Tshanda of Peacock fame to Splash no more

The legend of dalom music, Dan Tshanda, is no more. A family spokesperson confirmed on Saturday that the 54-year old Tshanda had a heart attack at about lunchtime on Saturday. He was rushed to a Sandton hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Splash was a much loved group in the 80s. When the late Ray Phiri saw their talent he ensured that they were supporting acts wherever his own group performed.

Condolences poured from all corners of the continent as Tshanda became quite popular well beyond the borders of South Africa.
