Fleet boost for EC emergency services

The Emergency Medical Services of the Eastern Cape received a short in the arm today when Premier Lubabalo Mabuyane handed over keys to 129 brand new emergency vehicles in Bhisho in a bid to improve provision of emergency health services in the province.

Mabuyane, who was joined by Health MEC, Sindiswa Gomba and the Transport MEC, Weziwe Tikana announced 129 vehicles were allocated to all districts of the province to address ongoing shortage of ambulance.

The investment into the procurement of the brand new fleet by the provincial government adds into the existing fleet of emergency medical services the province has been purchasing to service the provincial population.

The new fleet categories include ambulances, patient transport vehicles and response vehicles.
