There has been a lot of talk lately about respecting people’s identities. Articles on gender dysphoria, biracial science, the heteroflexible, trans people, social justice warriors —  the list is endless. There are many identity iterations to consider. A friend of mine teaches a class in the UK and has a pupil who identifies as a cat. Teachers don’t question the notion that the pupil is a feline in a human female body in case she’s offended. If you ask her name, she answers, I’m a cat. ..
