Police Minister Bheki Cele is expected to visit the families of the two Northern Cape police officers who were killed on Tuesday by a suspect linked to a stolen bakkie in Kimberley.
The 38-year-old suspect has since been arrested and will appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon.

The police department has lost two Flying Squad officers 35-year-old Constable Okaetse Mandindi and 45-year-old Kediemetse Masilo. They were shot by a suspected car thief in Kimberley on Tuesday.
The officers spotted a stolen vehicle and chased the suspect, who later overpowered and shot the police officers, causing panic in the city. He was then apprehended and is expected in court soon.
