Following a presentation on the Wild Coast destination of choice by 24 Miss Wild Coast contestants, 15 beauties were selected to the next round of the pageant.

The competition is on its second year after being founded by Eastern Cape (EC) born legal mind Buhle Tonise. Each contestant, Tonise said, had to make a two minute presentation on how her Wild Coast destination of choice is a tourist attraction. “They also had to tell the judges the challenges currently faced by their destinations of choice and how they believe EC Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) should assist their destinations of choice,” she said.

Tonise said the final decision on the top 15 finalists came from a combination of votes, social media activity and the four judges. The four are Tonise, Sihle Mgidi – Miss Wild Coast 2018, Xolelwa Majiza from Buffalo City Metro and Zandi Skweza of ECPTA.”This year’s programme has shown growth as we have attracted contestants from Greater Giyani and Polokwane, who have both made it through to the finals,” she said.
