One would be forgiven for thinking that as a high profile politician and the current Deputy Speaker in the Eastern Cape provincial legislature Mlibo Qoboshiyana is immune from the small things that other parents do, such as staying up overnight with their bundle-of-nerves children waiting for the newspaper that carries the matric results.

Qoboshiyana is admired by many as a family man, with photogragraphs of his work as a busy politician competing for space on his social media pages with those of his wife and children.

He celebrated his son’s superb achievement with a thumbs-up and a simple caption, “B”, indicating that the son obtained a “Bachelor” – the right of entry to university.
