Police say they are confident that more arrests will be made soon in the case of the murderer and rapist Thabo Bester.
Another suspect linked to Bester’s escape will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court in the Free State on Thursday.
On Tuesday, a G4S employee was arrested at the Mangaung Correctional Centre. The security guard will face charges of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice.
Six people including Bester have been arrested so far.
It is expected that appearance of the latest suspect will be quite short because the court will only be processing his information to ensure that they have the right person.
The information relates to the person’s identity, his home address and whether he is a flight risk.
