Thousands braved the rainy weather to fill up the 15000-seater marquee set up at the Sisa Dukashe stadium in Mdantsane as President Cyril Ramaphosa launched the Good Green Deeds (GGD) environmental awareness and cleanliness campaign.
Thereafter he donned ANC regalia and took to the streets of Scenery Park to make direct contact with voters.
Ramaphosa has been juggling between government duties and leading an ANC campaign that is largely built on less events and more contact sessions with the citizens. These “thuma mina” blitzes have been characterised by massive clean-up activities of public spaces in a bid to make South Africa a cleaner place and make citizens more environmentally friendly.
